Holistic Health Coaching FAQ:
What is Holistic Health Coaching?
So glad you asked!
•I look at each person as a WHOLE!
•Find out what goals they have to be well- mind, body, spirit, and environment.
•Guide them in creating a plan.
•Then offer much needed tools and support.
Is your coaching based on education or accountability?
Both! Some people have many pillars in place for optimal health but struggle to make a plan or stick to it. Others are quite disciplined but don’t know what things they should do to be well. Often people just feel overwhelmed in navigating their wellness journey on their own. Whatever combination of education, support and accountability you need, Resilient Wellness is here for you!
Who should try Holistic Health Coaching?
Everyone! Anyone can benefit from Holistic Health coaching.
Do you offer virtual Coaching?
You bet! Of course, if you are local, there’s something special about face to face. If you’re a bit further away, meeting virtually is a great option! You will still receive a wellness plan and any corresponding forms via email.
Why are the appointments so long?
Many practitioners have to focus on testing and treatments and don’t have time for lifestyle coaching in a 15 minute appointment. This often leaves individuals frustrated and researching on their own about topics such as nutrition. Having the opportunity to look at the person as a whole is most beneficial, and holding space for that is of high value here.
Is Holistic Health Coaching the same as counseling/ functional medicine?
No. Coaching does not take the place of your other health care needs. It can however, make them more successful. As part of the training for holistic health students, we are taught about our “scope of care” . While there is much cross over to counseling and functional medicine, we are trained to understand when to refer you to these services. That being said, many people seek out holistic health coaching to “fill in the gaps” of other services they may be utilizing, or, as a starting point to see what services they may or may not need.
Do you offer weight loss coaching?
Yes! Sustainable weight management is a highlight of holistic health coaching. You will be coached as a WHOLE person, looking at a variety of factors for optimal results. Be sure to list weight management as a top goal on your intake paperwork if that’s for you!
Acumyo Therapy FAQ:
What is AcuMyo Therapy?
AcuMyo Therapy is a form of Asian body work. It utilizes acupressure, shiatsu, and Tui Na techniques. It is a full body experience utilizing stretching and traction of the joints, acupressure points to get your Qi energy flowing, as well as gentle rubbing, pressing, and grasping techniques. Much of the treatment will feel similar to a traditional massage, but without the deep tissue work and focus on problem areas. It focuses on energy healing while also providing the comfort of healing touch and much needed mobilization.
How should I expect to feel after AcuMyo Therapy?
Most people report feeling relaxed but not tired after treatment, with some people feeling quite energized!
What should I wear for my treatment?
AcuMyo Therapy is preformed with the patient clothed as it focuses on energy, acupressure points, stretching and traction, rather than tissue manipulation. Soft material like cotton is preferred, please, no denim. Some people prefer shorts and or tank tops for comfort and/or more skin to skin contact in the shoulder and neck areas. Jewelry should not be worn during treatment. Don’t worry, there’s a safe place to put it here, if you forget! Makeup and hair products are discouraged as there is treatment to the head (scalp) and face.
Is AcuMyo Therapy good for people with injuries?
AcuMyo Therapy is good for everyone! It increases mobility and activates the parasympathetic nervous system, your body’s “rest and digest” state. However, it is NOT medical massage. Persons with injuries looking for treatment to a specific problem area should consider physical therapy, chiropractic or medical massage. AcuMyo is a great supplement to those treatments to give you a feel good boost and promote overall healing and well being in the body.
Is AcuMyo Therapy good for people who like gentle techniques?
Yes! Some other treatments, while beneficial and enjoyable, can leave you feeling sore afterwards. AcuMyo is a common treatment used for the elderly and other sensitive groups. Some areas utilize more pressure than others, but this can always be adjusted to suit your needs. Backing off from pressure won’t compromise the effectiveness of the treatment.
How is the Head and Sole treatment different from a full treatment?
Head and Sole starts with a relaxing treatment to the scalp, face, and neck then moves to the feet for stress relieving rubbing and acupressure. The best way to start a vibroaucustic session, which is how you’ll finish out your time on the table. The best of both worlds!
A full treatment has all of the above, but is longer, and a full body treatment. Meaning your entire time on the table includes body work. Choose what best suits your needs!
What is EFT?
Emotional Freedom Technique, also known as “tapping” is a method that some people use to manage their emotions, and reduce stress and anxious feelings. It is a powerful tool that can help you get “un-stuck” or “out of your own head”. You’ll have the guidance you need to promote successful tapping sessions with a coach, and, potential to learn the skills needed to develop your own EFT practice if that’s what’s right for you!
